The parchment editor
Rich text editing on a distraction-free parchment canvas.
The writing surface
The editor uses a warm parchment aesthetic designed to feel like writing on real paper. It's a full rich-text editor with formatting: bold, italic, headings, lists, blockquotes, and more. Select text to see the floating toolbar.
Text highlighting
Select any text and click one of the five highlight colors (yellow, blue, green, pink, orange) in the floating toolbar. Use highlights to mark key passages, track themes, or just add visual emphasis to your writing.
Focus mode
Press Cmd+Shift+F (or Ctrl+Shift+F on Windows) to enter focus mode. The sidebar, header, and all UI chrome disappear, leaving just you and your words on a full-screen parchment canvas. Press Escape to return to normal view.
Right rail
On larger screens, a right sidebar provides typography controls (font, size, width), reference panels (plot seed, previous chapter, story bible), scratch notes, and an AI assistant. All sections are collapsible so you can show only what you need.
