How credits work, what each plan includes, and tracking usage.
What are AI credits?
AI credits are consumed when you use AI-powered features: the assistant in the editor, brainstorming and research, cover art, voice transcription, and more. Each action costs a certain number of credits.
Credits by plan
No plan includes an AI allowance and no plan is unlimited. Credits are bought once at face value and spent per action: they are not a monthly allocation and they do not reset at the end of a billing cycle. What the plan changes is the rate at which they are spent - the same request costs about a third less on Pro than on Free. New accounts start with a small welcome balance so the first few actions cost nothing, and purchased credits are valid for 365 days.
Tracking usage
Check Account > AI Usage to see how many credits you've used this month, what you've used them on, and how many remain. The page shows a breakdown by feature so you can see where your credits go.
Running low on credits
If you're running low, you'll see a notification. Top up from Account > Credits whenever you like, or move to a plan with a better rate so the same work costs less - there is no monthly reset to wait for. Nothing stops halfway: every request is priced and reserved before it runs, so a generation that starts will finish.
Pro spends credits about a third slower than Free on the same request.
